At Crawfords Fencing, we don’t believe in taking shortcuts below ground.

As a general standard, our minimum post depth is 700 mm. Depending on the height of the fence, wind exposure, soil conditions and the project requirements, we regularly install posts up to 1.1 metres deep to provide the strength and stability the fence needs.

There is no “one-size-fits-all” depth for every fence. Every property is different, which is why we assess each project individually before installation begins.

Post depth isn’t something you can skimp on.

You can replace a broken paling in minutes, but replacing failed fence posts often means removing large sections of the fence and starting again. Investing in proper foundations from the beginning is one of the best ways to maximise the lifespan of your fence.

At Crawfords Fencing, we believe the strongest part of any fence is the part you’ll never see. That’s why we build from the ground up, using quality materials, appropriate footing depths and proven installation methods designed to stand the test of time.

“Anyone can build a fence that looks good today. We build fences that are still standing straight decades from now.”
— Tyrone Crawford, Director, Crawfords Fencing
