Our Warranty

 

At Crawfords Fencing, we stand behind the quality of every fence we build.

Every fence installed by our team is backed by a 24-month workmanship warranty. If an issue caused by our installation workmanship becomes apparent during this period, we’ll assess it and rectify it where covered.

Product and material warranties are provided separately by the relevant manufacturers and remain subject to their terms and conditions.

Timber Fencing

Timber is a natural product that responds to changes in temperature, moisture and weather conditions.

Over time, timber may expand, contract, twist, bow, split or develop surface checking. Some movement is a normal characteristic of timber and cannot be completely prevented by the installer. Natural timber movement is not necessarily evidence of faulty workmanship and will be assessed according to the circumstances.

Our responsibility is to ensure the fence has been installed correctly. Our timber-fencing installation standard includes:

  • Footings suited to the fence and site conditions

  • At least two 90 mm nails at each butt-jointed rail

  • Six ring-shank nails in each overlapping paling

  • Appropriate fixings installed securely throughout the fence

Our workmanship warranty does not limit any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law.

Genuine COLORBOND® Steel

We install fencing made from genuine COLORBOND® steel manufactured by BlueScope and build it in accordance with the relevant manufacturer’s specifications.

BlueScope states on its website that eligible COLORBOND® steel products may be covered by a manufacturer warranty. Eligibility and coverage depend on factors including the product, location, environmental conditions, installation and maintenance.

According to BlueScope’s published information:

  • Warranty applications can be made for up to 12 months after installation

  • Coverage may address corrosion to perforation and flaking or peeling of the exterior paint system

  • The applicable warranty period depends on the product, location and intended use

  • Genuine materials must carry official COLORBOND® steel branding

  • Installation and maintenance must follow BlueScope’s requirements

  • Areas not naturally washed by rain should be washed with fresh water at least every six months

  • Normal weathering, gradual colour change and reduced paint gloss are not covered

  • Manufacturer coverage may provide replacement material, equivalent material or the cost of repairing affected material

  • BlueScope’s published sample warranty does not include labour for removing or reinstalling fencing

The BlueScope manufacturer warranty is provided by BlueScope—not Crawfords Fencing—and is separate from our 24-month workmanship warranty. All eligibility decisions and claims are managed by BlueScope under its current terms and conditions.
