I’m Tyrone Crawford, Director and Lead Installer at Crawfords Fencing.
My career began in cabinetmaking, where I completed a Certificate III and developed a strong eye for detail, accuracy and quality craftsmanship. I later earned a Diploma of Building and Construction, and I now bring more than 11 years of hands-on experience at Crawfords Fencing to every project we undertake.
Before starting the business, I worked at Taylor Fencing in Bayswater alongside a team of around 25 highly skilled installers. As I progressed through the ranks, I gained experience across the industry—from fencing and retaining walls to chainmesh, tennis courts, fabrication and bolt-on systems. I’m incredibly grateful for that opportunity and for everything I learned along the way.
I started Crawfords Fencing with little more than a trailer, some tools and a commitment to doing quality work. I’m immensely proud of how far the business has come.
Today, I still personally oversee every job. We don’t subcontract our installations—my small team and I manage and build each project ourselves. I believe that hands-on approach is how we have maintained such a consistently high standard of workmanship.
My cabinetmaking background has influenced the business in ways I never expected. It taught me to be meticulous about measurements, finishes and materials. I personally select the timber we use and only purchase through trusted, carefully vetted suppliers. Our timber yard, Leisure Timber, understands the quality I expect and consistently delivers it.
Customers often tell me they can see how passionate I am about my work. For me, however, Crawfords Fencing has become much more than a business. It has created an entire community around me, and I’m grateful every day for our team, our suppliers, our industry network and the customers who continue to place their trust in us.

We have the knowledge and hands-on experience to construct complex retaining walls, including engineered walls, bolt-on systems and projects with difficult access.
We specialise in integrated Colorbond fencing and retaining-wall systems. These bolt-on systems allow the Colorbond fence to be installed directly above the retaining wall, creating a strong, practical and streamlined result.
We’re also experienced in tight-access projects where excavators and other machinery simply cannot reach the work area. Our team understands how to plan and complete these challenging installations without compromising the quality of the finished wall.
